One Holy Zit

Yesterday at Mass at my son's school I was marveling at the different crosses everyone was receiving on their foreheads, especially those getting ashes from our very sweet (and apparently enthusiastic) priest. You know, those ashes referred to as "Father's Revenge", where the cross spans the entire forehead, and for those poor bald guys, most of the top of their heads? In all honesty, I couldn't help but giggle. That takes owning your ashes to a whole new level. Then it dawned on me...

Those guys are LUCKY and I should have been the first in Father's line. The thought entered my mind that the bigger the cross on my forehead, the more distracted people would be and they may not even notice the GINORMOUS zit on my chin! It would have been an ingenious plan, had I thought of it earlier. That being said, I was still feeling pretty lucky that I had any distraction away from the monstrosity on my chin. Being Catholic has a lot of advantages, even non-spiritual ones.
